Death Tarot Card

While this card bears the name 'Death' in most modern Tarot decks, this hasn't always been the case. Historically, the card is more associated with transformation itself in its name. For instance, in the popular Goddess deck, the Death card is replaced with a card entitled, 'Transformation,' which is much closer to the card's intended meaning. In fact, sometimes Death has been left nameless in order to allow for the card's larger message to come across (big changes are on the horizon!).
